Future Ready Librarians and Project Connect with Shannon Miller

Shannon McClintock Miller is the new spokesperson for Future Ready Librarians and Project Connect. Future Ready Schools (FRS) and the Alliance for Excellent Education formed Future Ready Librarians last summer, which is aimed at positioning librarians as leaders in the digital transformation of learning.

Librarians are now playing central roles in school leadership and working daily with students, teachers, and administrators, says Bob Wise, president of the Alliance for Excellent Education.

As a teacher/librarian in a small rural school district in Iowa, Shannon was able to make a difference not only in her library, but the lives of all students, teachers and her community.

Come and learn as Shannon shares how you can prepare your school to be Future Ready. To view archived shared conversation click here:

Shared Conversation Open Education Media and Resources 5/16 2 PM CT

As school districts expand digital learning in the new economic reality, they look for resources to bring into classrooms. Many schools are finding opportunities to utilize Open Educational Resources (OER), in lieu of purchasing content. OER includes free teaching and learning materials for use, remix, and redistribution, without the burden of copyright permissions.

The U.S. Department of Education¢¯¿½¯¿½s Office of Educational Technology is championing the use of OER nationwide through the #GoOpen program.
Date: Tuesday, May 16, 2017 Time: 2 p.m. CST or 3 p.m. EST
Join us on May 16 for a NAMTC Shared Conversation with presenter Bradley C. Landis, Ed.D., to receive an OER overview and learn how Educational Service Agencies can support schools incorporating OER into their educational ecosystems.
NAMTC offers FREE virtual professional development opportunities for members and non-members.
